Curriculum for Grades 5-8

ASA strives to meet the developmental needs of our middle school students. We believe the middle school is a transition from elementary school to high school, not a "mini high school". (Click here to view the developmental characterstics of middle school students that we focus on.) Scroll down to view programming for each grade level. 5th Grade:

Although fifth grade is housed in the middle school, they are physically located in the south wing of the building with the 6th graders. Fifth and sixth graders share a common lunch and recess period. Fifth graders have a unique program designed to meet the needs of their age group. While they are the youngest members of the middle school campus, they have several opportunities during the school year to mentor younger elementary students from the Diamond campus. Being on the middle school campus gives fifth graders more efficient opportunities to participate in band, electives, and competitive athletics.
